Welcome!
The rabbit is, admittedly, not a very epic companion. But this rabbit, the Moon Rabbit, has made herself a name as brewer of elixirs and the moon goddess’ companion on top of keeping her own secrets. It didn’t take a war or a revolution for the rabbit to become a cherished figure of divine status. Just a lot of devotion — one of its super powers.
Moon Rabbit Musings is about the magic-in-daily-life, or what I like to call embodied folklore. Lore that is lived.
The magic of daily life, to my moon rabbit understanding, lie in:
our contact with nature & animals, however small
things that arise from a supportive circle
moments of inspiration, discovery, and intuitive leaps
You’ll find my own interpretations of those here, so perhaps I should introduce myself.
I’m Lucia.
I’m a studied art historian, anthropologist, actor, Shakespearean and former staffed TV writer turned East Asian Medicine practitioner. With childhood memories between Germany and China, I’ve found myself living in California, Poland, and the UK. I now run my own clinic for TCM & Japanese acupuncture in Berlin. In addition to still being in love with the artistic, creative side of life.
Maybe I should’ve listened to my parents and just pursued medicine right from the start, but where would have been the fun in that?
This newsletter grew out of my crooked, lucky path, a way of weaving everything I’ve studied, observed, and practiced into one thread.
This is a knowledge based on training with great teachers and seeking to apply that knowledge. Perspectives on medicine that have passed three generations of my ancestry. Stuff I’m excited about because I think attention is the most precious currency we have.
Here are the sections of my publication and what you’ll find:
Lunar Garden
Poetry and poetry translations that are rooted in nature
Plant profiles and guides, TCM-inspired and beyond
Circle of lunar-gazing poets and collaborative posts with prompts for everyone to take part in
Silk Road Sarāy
Explorations of artifacts and tales from the Silk Road
Invitations framing a sensual imagined experience of the Silk Road through fiction, audio & more
Bagua Radio
Philosophical readings of stories & media
Discussions of story structure, archetypes, and other story elements beyond the hero’s journey.
Whether you’re here for insight, inspiration, or simply to wander and wonder, I’m glad you found your way.
Join the somewhat serene lunar garden party, sip on some jasmine tea, and stay awhile.
